Practice Manager
Corinne Skrzywanek Matheson
Your first point of contact at The Park Practice is likely to be Practice Manager Corinne Matheson. Corinne ensures that you receive a friendly and efficient welcome. She can also provide guidance as to the various therapies and services available. Contact Corinne if you need to make, change or cancel appointments or discuss your payment plans.
Corinne started dental nursing aged 18 and Qualified as DSA from Langside College. She changed career direction to airline crew and joined British Airways where she was lucky enough to travel internationally for 10years. Corinne started at the practice in 2000 as a Dental Nurse and rejoined in 2005 as the Practice Manager. Enjoys providing clients at the Park Practice excellent customer care. Corinne loves running, socialising and spending time with her family.

Dentistry Team
Michael C. Blackie BDS - Dentist
Michael qualified from Glasgow University in 1992. He set up The Park Practice with the aim of providing a more relaxed and enjoyable dental experience for all. Over the past few years he has attended many postgraduate courses and seminars on dental treatments and techniques. He has developed a keen interest and in-depth knowledge of the problems of headaches, migraines, TMJ and occlusion. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.

Barry Simpson BDS - Dentist
Barry graduated from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2000. He completed his vocational training year in Fort William and stayed on as an associate in the dental practice for a further 3 years, providing dental care to patients across the West Highlands and Islands.
Returning to Glasgow in 2003, Barry split his time between The Park Practice and the Kessington Dental Practice in Bearsden, building large patient lists in both. He committed himself full-time to the west end dental practice in 2005 and now offers full dental care to NHS and private patients across the area.
Barry has a gentle, caring manner and specialises in helping nervous patients feel at ease. He is fully committed to professional development and regularly attends conferences and training events to keep up to date.
When he can drag himself away from the surgery and the demands of a new baby, Barry enjoys hill-walking, snowboarding and cycling. A keen golfer, he can’t get his handicap down to a respectable level – a fact which he attributes to his work schedule! Barry loves Glasgow’s music and arts scene and has developed an eclectic taste in music (feel free to ask him to change the radio station in the surgery – he’s not easily offended!)

Hilary Garner - Dental Hygienist
Hilary qualified as a dental hygienist at Edinburgh Dental Hospital in 1994. She has been working in the profession ever since and has continued her professional development as her career has advanced. This has involved courses at Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh dental institutions. This ensures that all patients are given the very best clinical advice and care to help maintain the optimium health of their teeth and gums. Hilary loves meeting new patients , helping improve their dental health and demonstrating the techniques to prevent oral problems and giving advice on the effects of diet.

Pauline Laverty FHT - Complementary Therapist
Pauline is a former professional ballet dancer with 18 years of holistic therapy experience. She is a fully qualified Holistic Therapist with a wide range of complementary therapy diplomas. These include Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Nutrition, Counselling, Advanced Acupressure Massage and Indian Head Massage.

David Sutherland BDS - Dentist
David Graduated from Dundee University in 2009 as a Dental Surgeon. He spent a year Vocational Training in Arbroath. He Relocated back to Glasgow in 2010. David is originally from Hamilton but now lives locally.
He joined the Park Practice in August of 2010 where he now has become a very popular member of the dental team. Would like to make patients more aware of preventative dentistry.
David's interests include rugby, golf and sports in general, and he enjoys travelling, eating out and keeping fit.

Clare Urquhart - Senior Dental Nurse
Clare is from Kirkintilloch and is a Senior Dental Nurse. Clare joined The Park Practice in 2006. She qualified in 2008 and is registered with the GDC. Clare has over eleven years experience, having previously worked in Kirkintilloch.
Clare recently completed her Childsmile course and now educates families and children about correct diet and oral hygiene. She assisted the principal dentist at a Clearstep course for invisible braces in Leeds in 2010. Clare’s interests include music and socialising with friends and family.

Kathryn Holt - Senior Dental Nurse
Kathryn is a Senior Dental Nurse from Glasgow. She joined The Park Practice in 2008. She registered and qualified in 2009. Kathryn has five years experience and previously worked in Crieff. Kathryn became interested in dental implants and reconstructive dentistry and now assists the principal dentist in most implant consultations. She enjoys swimming, walking her dogs, music, socialising and football!

Hayley Shaw - Junior Dental Nurse
Hayley is from Glasgow and is a Junior Dental Nurse. She joined The Park Practice in March 2010. Currently studying under Mentor Dental Instructors, Hayley is expected to sit her DSA exam in the summer of 2012. She enjoys all aspects of chair-side assisting as part of her necessary work experience. Hayley enjoys going out at weekends with friends, watching TV and films and following fashion.

Lynne Higgins - Front Desk
Lynne joined The Park Practice in January 2011. She is originally from Dundee and attended The University of Dundee where she gained a degree in Psychology.
Lynne assists and supports the smooth running of the front desk. Her patient manner is very popular with patients. Lynne loves to travel and learn new languages, spent 3 years working as an EFL teacher in Korea. Enjoys music, films, swimming and socialising.

Erin Smith - Trainee Junior Dental Nurse
Erin is originally from Lenzie and is a Trainee Junior Dental Nurse. Erin is our newest member of staff and joined The Park Practice in October 2011. Erin will be tutored by Mentor dental trainers until she is ready to complete her portfolio and sit her exam.
Already assisting the principal dentist in most chair-side work, Erin is enjoying working as part of a team and is making good progress.
Erin enjoys socialising and various forms of dance, especially contemporary and jazz.
