Mouthguards - Schools

A blow to the head, face or mouth during sporting activities can send shockwaves through the skull causing:

  • Tooth fracture
  • Jaw damage
  • Concussion
  • More serious injury

Mouthguards significantly reduce or prevent damage from direct and indirect blows.

Why choose a custom-made mouthguard compared to a boil and bite?

  • Improved fit and comfort as they are made from an accurate impression of your mouth taken by a dental professional
  • Can be thicker and therefore better at shock-absorption and spreading the load
  • Less movement during activity
  • Breathing not affected
  • Speech impaired less
  • Recommended by dentists and the British Dental Health Foundation

A qualified dentist from The Park Practice would be delighted to visit your school to take dental impressions required to produce custom-made mouthguards. There would then be a second visit to ensure a good, comfortable fit for each child.

This is beneficial for children participating in sports such as rugby, hockey, football, martial arts, basketball, boxing, volleyball, squash, skiing as well as combat sports.

A mouthguard usually lasts for around one year depending on usage and dental development / growth.

Each child can choose their preferred colour of mouthguard and will have their name included on the product.

This is being offered at the discounted price of £50 per mouthguard.

Take advantage of this convenient and cost-saving opportunity to protect your child’s dentition with a professionally made custom-fit mouthguard.

Mouthguards are typically fitted 2 weeks after impression taking.
