Patients will progress through a series of clear aligners over the course of several months, and possibly years, depending on the starting position of the teeth. Each aligner should be worn for around 2-3 weeks. Although the clear aligners are fully removable, they should be kept in the mouth for up to 20 hours per day in order for them to have their full effect.

Step 1: Initial consultation  

Book your appointment online or over the phone to come into our practice for an initial clear aligners consultation. Here, your Glasgow dentist will answer all your questions (from “are they basically clear braces?” on) and have a look at your teeth to assess if you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment.  

Step 2: Dental impressions 

If you are happy to proceed with the clear aligner treatment, we will next take impressions of your mouth and teeth, along with some photographs and x-rays. This allows us to create custom-made aligners that fit your mouth exactly, ensuring the highest level of comfort and care possible throughout your treatment.  

Step 3: Get your Clear Aligners fitted 

If all previous steps have gone according to plan and there are now issues with your mouth or teeth, your Glasgow Dentist will have Clear Aligner™ make your ‘invisible’ aligners in their dental laboratory.  

We will then ask you to come into our practice to have your first set of aligners fitted to check for comfort and placement. If all is well, your dentist will give you detailed instructions on how to wear your brand-new aligners and answer any extra questions that you may have at this stage.

Step 4: Wear your aligners! 

The final step is to simply to wear your clear aligner braces for the recommended amount of time each and every day. As you progress through your clear aligners you will need to return to our practice every 4-6 weeks so we can check on your progress and give you your next set of clear aligners.  

Before you know it your teeth will have significantly changed position and you will have achieved that perfectly straight smile that you have always dreamed of.
